Horticulture:
Use the vocabulary handouts for “Fungal Diseases” and “Viruses” and collect or create pictures to represent each vocab word. It can be pictures you take of your own plants outside or those you find on the internet. When you have completed you can either share the document with me or email pictures of your work to [email protected] Due April 24th.
 
Welding:

All Welding Courses:
1) – Weld Joints Activity: Sketch each type of weld joint and list 3 examples of where you might see each joint being used.Activity – Weld Joints
2) – Use a ruler to complete the Scales & Measurements worksheet.
EXTRA CREDIT: Practice the Welding Game using the link below (you can use your phone!) Practice and screenshot your high scores so that when we return to school you can compare scores!

Week of 2/24-2/28

This week, students will finish up their firewood rack projects with their groups and submit for a grade. Afterwards, students will begin working on fundamentals for upcoming skills tests certification in SMAW and MIG processes.

EXTRA CREDIT AVAILABLE FOR ALL WHO HELP WITH OUR CDE CONTEST ON SATURDAY!

9/30-10/4

This week we will continue practicing T-Joints and Corner Joints with SMAW 6011.

Tuesday-Wednesday: Create a 2″ x 2″ x 2″ box with 1/4″ plate. When all boxes are complete, we will test them in water for air pockets.

Thursday-Friday: Oxy-Acetylene Torch Safety

Week of 9/3 – 9/6

This week we will continue with SMAW Safety. We will:

Study the parts of an Arc Welder and take a safety quiz. Once safety quizzes are passed we will head out to begin hands-on practice with the machine. You should already have your Personal Protective Equipment, and you will NOT use a welder or receive a daily shop grade until you have the correct PPE.

We will be continuing our unit on Safety this week. You will:

Re-take safety tests if needed until Friday.

Work on Section 1, Chapter 1 vocab terms and review.

Remember that you MUST have your Personal Protective Equipment by Monday!

Welcome to Introduction to Welding!!

This week on Thursday and Friday we will cover classroom procedures and the syllabus, requirements for Personal Protective Equipment, and outline requirements for a successful year in Welding.
